Gloria Steinem’s Voters For Choice (V4C) teamed with Guacamole Productions for a concert series to honor of the 22nd Anniversary of Roe v. Wade, in Washington, DC — made possible by the donations of the artists full performance and Media PR time and effort. This series of intimate shows were aimed to raise awareness and money for lobbying and grassroots and National earned media. Events included: An Evening With: Jimmy Dale Gilmore, Nanci Griffith, Sara McLachlan, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Natalie Merchant and An Evening With: Rickie Lee Jones, Bruce Cockburn, Bruce Hornsby, and Shawn Colvin
The series culminated with the surprise announcement of a 3500 seat show in DC’s DAR Constitution Hall with Pearl Jam with L7, Neil Young, and Lisa Germano. Seating was available only by a USPS mail-in within a 72 hour window; winners were invited by personal calls from staff and volunteers. Despite the limited application window, response was so great that all artists agreed to perform a second night to another full audience.
